A slide that changes abruptly can distract; a slide that spins and bounces distracts even more. Used with care, transitions and animations help people follow the words without noticing the technology.

Psalms 96:6

Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

King James Version

Transitions between slides

BibleSlide offers several transitions — fade through black, crossfade, slide and more — each with its own speed. For worship, a short crossfade is usually best: the text changes smoothly and the screen is never empty.

Lyrics line by line, verses one by one

  • Show a verse of a hymn line by line, at the pace of the singing.
  • Reveal Bible verses one at a time during the sermon.
  • In bilingual mode, both languages appear together.
  • The words are never changed — only shown step by step.

The operator stays in control

  • Next plays the next step, then moves to the next slide.
  • Skip shows the whole slide at once if the pastor moves faster.
  • No animations turns everything off in one click, on that computer, if something feels wrong.

Keep it simple

Choose one transition for the whole service and use animations only where they help. People who prefer reduced motion on their device see instant changes. The phone remote, the stage screen and the live stream follow the same steps.

Preview your animations privately in the editor before Sunday, at the real speed.
