This policy explains what information BibleSlide handles when you visit bibleslide.org or use the BibleSlide application, why, and the choices you have. It describes the platform as it works today.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use BibleSlide, we handle:

  • Account information — see section 3.
  • Content you create — presentations, uploaded images and display settings (section 4).
  • Messages you send us — through the contact form or by email: your name, email address, optional church name and your message.
  • Requests about your data — such as an account deletion request, which records the email address and the request status.
  • Technical information — our hosting provider’s servers record standard request logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested, date and time).

Visitors who are not signed in can read the public website without an account. Public pages do not set cookies for them.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide the service — sign you in, save and show your presentations, remember your display preferences;
  • answer your messages and requests;
  • keep BibleSlide secure — prevent abuse, investigate problems and protect accounts;
  • maintain and improve the platform; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Account Information

BibleSlide accounts are WordPress user accounts. When you create a free account we ask for your name, email address and a password, and optionally the name of your church or ministry; a username is generated from your email address. WordPress stores passwords in hashed form, so they are not kept in readable text.

When you create an account, we email you a 6-digit code to confirm your email address. The account stays inactive until the code is entered; the code expires after 15 minutes and is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. After confirmation we send you a welcome email and notify the site administrator.

Your account also stores your BibleSlide display preferences (theme, text size, background image and chorus options).

From your dashboard you can optionally fill in a profile (photo, cover image, role, short biography, church or ministry, location, website, a public email, phone, WhatsApp and social links), a link page and a ministry page. They are private by default. Only the details you choose to publish appear on your public pages (bibleslide.org/u/…, bibleslide.org/@… and bibleslide.org/m/…), and anyone with the link can see them. Your login email address and your presentations are never shown there. You can make a page private or a draft again, or remove any detail, at any time.

4. User Content

When you use the application, BibleSlide stores the content you create so that it is available to you:

  • saved presentations (their titles and the songs, Bible passages and text slides they contain);
  • background images you upload for your slides; and
  • songs you add or edit, if your account has permission to manage the song library; and
  • your progress in the Li Labib Nan 1 An reading plan, if you choose to save it: the days you mark as finished, when you marked them, and the last day you opened. This progress is private — only you can see it.

When you use the phone remote, a temporary live session is created. Its access links are protected by random tokens that are stored only in hashed form, and the session expires automatically.

Bible verses and hymns in the library come from public-domain and openly available sources stored on our own server. Looking up a verse does not send your searches to an outside service.

5. Community Activity

BibleSlide does not currently offer public profiles, leaderboards, comments or other community features. If we add community features, we will update this policy before they launch to explain what is shared and with whom.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Cookies

BibleSlide uses only cookies that are needed for signing in and for serving pages correctly:

  • WordPress sign-in cookies (wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*) keep you signed in; wordpress_test_cookie checks that your browser accepts cookies on the login page.
  • WordPress settings cookies (wp-settings-*) remember interface choices in the administration area for signed-in users.
  • Cache cookie (_lscache_vary), set by our caching software (LiteSpeed Cache) for signed-in users so they receive their own pages rather than a public cached copy.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Browser storage

The BibleSlide application saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so it works quickly and keeps your place: your interface language, your Bible preferences (last translation used, verses per slide), a cached list of Bible book names, and the service you are currently preparing. On public hymn pages, Li Labib pages and the public Bible reader, the reading text size you choose is also remembered in your browser, and the Bible reader remembers the translation you last read. Without an account, the Li Labib plan can remember in your browser the last day you opened and the days you mark as finished; nothing of this is sent to us unless you sign in and choose to save it to your account.

To keep working when a church’s internet connection drops, the application installs a service worker that keeps copies of the application files and of the songs, Bible passages and presentations you have opened. The saved copies of songs, passages and presentations are cleared when you log out of the application.

You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. If you do, you will need to sign in again, and unsaved work in the application may be lost.

7. Analytics

BibleSlide does not currently use an analytics service (such as Google Analytics) or any other visitor-tracking tool. If this changes, we will update this policy first.

8. Payments & Donations

BibleSlide does not currently process online payments. When online giving becomes available, donations will be handled by a third-party payment provider. The provider will collect and process your payment details under its own privacy and security practices; BibleSlide will receive only the information needed to record and acknowledge your gift (such as your name, email address, amount and date) and will not store full card numbers, security codes or bank credentials.

9. Third-Party Services

BibleSlide relies on a small number of outside services:

  • Hosting — the site and its database run on servers provided by Hostinger, which also provides the server security scanning used by the site.
  • Email delivery — account emails (verification code, welcome, password reset) are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, which receives your email address and the content of the message in order to deliver it.
  • Study Assistant (optional) — when the Study Assistant is switched on and you ask a question, your question, the Bible passage you are reading, related commentary excerpts and the answer language are sent to the AI server configured by BibleSlide. Your name, email address, profile and presentations are not sent. Conversations are not stored by BibleSlide; clearing the conversation or leaving the page forgets them.
  • Google Fonts — our pages load the Inter and Montserrat typefaces from Google’s servers. Your browser therefore connects to Google, which receives your IP address and basic browser information. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles this.
  • Li Labib Nan 1 AN audio — on Li Labib pages, the audio is played by the podcast’s official player, provided by Podbean. The player loads only when you press “Koute”; from then on Podbean receives your IP address and basic browser information under its own privacy policy. BibleSlide does not host or copy the audio.
  • Sharing links — the share buttons on blog articles are plain links. Nothing is sent to Facebook, X, WhatsApp or your email program unless you click one.

10. Data Security

BibleSlide uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect platform and account information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access tokens, permission checks on every action in the application, and database backups before updates. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as it is needed:

  • account information and your content — while your account is active, or until you delete them or ask us to;
  • live phone-remote sessions — they expire automatically;
  • messages you send us — as long as needed to answer and follow up;
  • server logs — according to our hosting provider’s retention schedule; and
  • backups — copies made before updates are replaced over time, so deleted information can remain in a backup for a limited period until it is overwritten.

12. Your Privacy Choices

You can:

  • update your profile information and display preferences while signed in;
  • delete your saved presentations;
  • ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete your information; and
  • clear the cookies and site data stored in your browser.

To make a request, write to support@bibleslide.org. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

13. Account Deletion

You can ask for your account to be deleted on the Delete my account page. We will email you a link to confirm the request, which protects you against requests made by someone else. Once confirmed, we delete your account and the personal data linked to it, including your presentations, preferences and uploaded images. Copies in backups are removed as those backups are replaced, and information we are legally required to keep is retained only as long as required.

14. Children’s Privacy

BibleSlide is intended for churches, ministries and adults who serve them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. International Users

BibleSlide is used by churches in several countries. Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than yours, where our hosting provider operates, and where data protection rules may differ. We apply the protections described in this policy wherever your information is processed.

16. Changes to this Policy

We will update this policy when BibleSlide’s practices change — for example if we add online giving, community features or new services. We will change the “Last Updated” date above and, for significant changes, give notice on the site or by email.
