1 (05:1) Pou chèf sanba yo. Se sou enstriman yo rele fif pou yo jwe mizik la. Se yon sòm David. (05:2) Koute sa m'ap di ou, Seyè! Tande jan m'ap plenn! 2 (05:3) Se ou ki wa mwen, se ou ki Bondye mwen. Pran ka m', Seyè, lè m'ap rele ou! Se ou menm m'ap lapriyè, Seyè. 3 (05:4) Chak maten ou tande vwa m'. Kou solèy leve, mwen mete lapriyè m' devan ou. M'ap tann ou reponn mwen. 4 (05:5) Ou se yon Bondye ki pa pran plezi nan bagay ki mal. Ou pa tolere mechan yo bò kote ou. 5 (05:6) Moun k'ap vante tèt yo pa ka kanpe devan ou. Ou pa vle wè moun k'ap fè mechanste. 6 (05:7) Ou detwi tout moun k'ap bay manti. Ou pa ka sipòte moun k'ap touye moun, ni moun k'ap twonpe moun. 7 (05:8) Men mwen menm, m'a antre lakay ou, paske ou renmen m' anpil. M'ap lage kò m' nan pye ou, nan kay ki apa pou ou a. M'ap adore ou. 8 (05:9) Seyè, mwen gen anpil lènmi k'ap veye m'. Pran men m' pou m' ka fè sa ki dwat devan ou. Fè m' wè chemen ou mete devan m' lan, fè m' wè l' aklè. 9 (05:10) Ou pa janm ka kwè moun sa yo. Se dèyè yon sèl bagay yo ye: yo vle fini ak tout moun. Anndan bouch yo, ou ta di yon kavo ki louvri, lang yo menm dous konsa pou flate moun. 10 (05:11) Se mechan yo ye. Kondannen yo, Bondye. Gate tout plan yo te fè. Pou valè peche yo fè, wete yo devan jè ou. paske se kenbe y'ap kenbe tèt ak ou. 11 (05:12) Men, tout moun ki mete konfyans yo nan ou, fè kè yo kontan. Se pou yo chante san rete tèlman yo kontan. PSALM 5
Psa 5:1-12. Upon Nehiloth--flutes or wind instruments. The writer begs to be heard, on the ground of God's regard for His covenant-people and true worshippers as contrasted with His holy hatred to the wicked. He prays for divine guidance, on account of his watchful, malignant, and deceitful enemies; and for their destruction as being also God's enemies. At the same time he expresses his confidence that God will extend aid to His people.

3. direct--literally, "set in order," as the showbread was placed or set in order (Ex 40:23).

dwell--lodge, remain under protection.

iniquity--especially such as denotes a negation, or defect, that is, of moral principle.

the bloody ... man--literally, "man of blood"--murderer.

8. enemies--literally, "watchers" (Psa 27:11), hence special need of guidance.
in thy righteousness--an attribute implying faithfulness in promises as well as threatenings.
make thy way straight--that is, make the way of providence plain.

9. The wicked are not reliable because by nature they are full of wickedness, or literally, "wickednesses," of every kind (Ro 8:7).
sepulchre--a dwelling-place of corruption, emitting moral putridness.
flatter--or, "make smooth."
their tongue--speaks deceitfully.

10. Destroy--or, "condemn" them to destruction as guilty.

love thy name--Thy manifested perfections (Psa 9:10).
