Sòm 37

Bib La · Kreyòl Ayisyen

1 Se yon sòm David. Pa fè kòlè lè ou wè mechan yo! Pa anvye sò moun k'ap fè mal yo! 2 Talè konsa, y'ap rache yo tankou raje. Yo gen pou yo fennen tankou zèb gazon. 3 Mete konfyans ou nan Seyè a, fè sa ki byen! Pran peyi a fè kay ou, viv ak kè poze! 4 Si se nan Seyè a ou pran tout plezi ou, l'a ba ou tou sa ou ta renmen. 5 Renmèt kòz ou nan men Seyè a! Mete konfyans ou nan li, l'a ede ou. 6 L'a fè jistis ou parèt aklè tankou yon limyè, l'a fè rezon ou parèt aklè tankou gwo solèy midi. 7 Rete dousman dèvan Seyè a, pran san ou. Tann li fè sa l' gen pou l' fè a. Pa fè kòlè lè ou wè moun gen zafè yo ap mache byen. lè ou wè moun reyalize tout move lide yo gen nan tèt yo. 8 Pa fache, pa fè move san. Ou pa bezwen ennève! Sa kapab fè ou fè sa ki mal. 9 Moun ki mete konfyans yo nan Seyè a va pran peyi a pou yo. Men, y'ap disparèt mechan yo. 10 Talè konsa, p'ap gen mechan ankò. W'a chache yo, ou p'ap jwenn yo. 11 Men, moun ki soumèt devan Bondye, yo pral resevwa pèyi a pou byen yo, y'a viv ak kè poze nèt ale. 12 Mechan yo ap fè konplo sou moun k'ap mache dwat yo. Y'ap gade yo konsa, yo anvi devore yo. 13 Seyè a ap ri mechan an, paske li konnen mechan an pa la pou lontan. 14 Mechan yo rale koulin yo, y'ap pare banza yo, pou yo touye pòv yo ak malere yo, pou ansasinen moun k'ap mache dwat yo. 15 Men, se yo menm menm koulin yo pral rache. Banza yo menm ap kase nan men yo. 16 Pito ou pa gen anpil byen, men ou mache dwat, pase pou ou gen anpil richès nan fè sa ki mal. 17 Paske, Bondye ap kraze kouraj mechan yo, men l'ap soutni moun ki mache dwat yo. 18 Seyè a konnen jan moun ki fè volonte l' yo ap viv. Eritaj yo la pou tout tan. 19 Yo p'ap wont lè bagay gate, y'ap jwenn tou sa yo bezwen lè grangou tonbe sou peyi a. 20 Men mechan yo ap peri. Moun ki pa vle wè Seyè a ap fennen tankou flè savann. Y'ap disparèt tankou lafimen. 21 Mechan an prete, li pa nan renmèt. Men, moun ki mache dwat yo gen kè sansib, yo fè kado. 22 Moun Seyè a beni va pran peyi a pou yo. Men, moun ki anba madichon Bondye gen pou disparèt sou tè a. 23 Seyè a pran men lèzòm, li mete yo nan bon chemen. Li kontan wè yo mache dwat. 24 Si yo tonbe, yo p'ap rete atè a. Paske Seyè a ap ba yo men. 25 Depi mwen timoun jouk mwen vin granmoun, mwen pa janm wè Bondye lage yon moun ki mache dwat, ni mwen pa janm wè pitit pitit li yo ap mande charite. 26 Okontrè, moun ki mache dwat l'a toujou gen kè sansib pou l' bay, pou li prete moun tou. Tout pitit pitit li yo tounen yon benediksyon pou lòt moun. 27 Pa fè mal, fè sa ki byen. W'a toujou gen yon kote nan peyi a pou ou rete. 28 Paske, Seyè a renmen moun ki mache dwat. Li pa lage moun ki kenbe fèm nan sèvis li. L'ap toujou pwoteje yo. Men, ras mechan yo gen pou disparèt. 29 Moun ki mache dwat gen pou pran peyi a pou yo. Y'ap rete nan peyi a tout tan tout tan. 30 Moun ki mache dwat devan Bondye bay bon konsèy. Se bon pawòl ase ki soti nan bouch li. 31 Li kenbe lalwa Bondye a fèm nan kè li, li p'ap janm bite. 32 Mechan an ap veye tout vire tounen moun k'ap mache dwat, l'ap chache jan pou l' touye l'. 33 Men, Seyè a p'ap lage l' nan men mechan an, li p'ap kite yo kondannen l' lè y'ap jije l'. 34 Mete konfyans ou nan Seyè a, fè tou sa l' mande ou fè. L'ap ba ou fòs pou ou ka pran peyi a pou ou. 37 Gade moun k'ap mache dwat la byen gade. Gade tout vire tounen l'. Moun ki viv byen ak tout moun ap gen pitit ak pitit pitit. 38 Men, moun k'ap fè mal yo, y'ap rete konsa y'ap disparèt. Tout pitit ak pitit pitit yo ap disparèt tou. 39 Se Seyè a k'ap sove moun ki mache dwat yo. L'ap sèvi yo defans lè yo nan tray. 40 L'ap pote yo sekou, l'ap delivre yo. L'ap wete yo anba men mechan yo, paske se anba zèl li y' al chache pwoteksyon.

Sòm 37:1-2

PSALM 37

Psa 37:1-40. A composed and uniform trust in God and a constant course of integrity are urged in view of the blessedness of the truly pious, contrasted in various aspects with the final ruin of the wicked. Thus the wisdom and justice of God's providence are vindicated, and its seeming inequalities, which excite the cavils of the wicked and the distrust of the pious, are explained. David's personal history abundantly illustrates the Psalm.

1-2. The general sentiment of the whole Psalm is expressed. The righteous need not be vexed by the prosperity of the wicked; for it is transient, and their destiny undesirable.

Sòm 37:3

3. Trust--sure of safety.

shalt thou dwell--or, "dwell thou"; repose quietly.

verily ... fed--or, "feed on truth," God's promise (Psa 36:5; compare Ho 12:1).

Sòm 37:5

5. Commit thy way--(Pr 16:3). Works--what you have to do and cannot set forth as a burden.

trust ... in him--literally, "on Him." He will do what you cannot (compare Psa 22:8; 31:6). He will not suffer your character to remain under suspicion.

Sòm 37:7-8

7-8. Rest in--literally, "Be silent to the Lord."

and wait--Be submissive--avoid petulance and murmurings, anger and rash doing.

Sòm 37:9

9. Two reasons: The prosperity of the wicked is short; and the pious, by humble trust, will secure all covenant blessing, denoted here by "inherit the earth" (compare Psa 25:13).

Sòm 37:10-11

10-11. shall not be--literally, "is not"--is not to be found.

Sòm 37:12

12. gnasheth ... teeth--in beastly rage.

Sòm 37:13

13. (Compare Psa 2:4).

seeth--knows certainly.

his day--of punishment, long delayed, shall yet come (He 10:37).

Sòm 37:14-15

14-15. sword, and ... bow--for any instruments of violence.

slay--literally, "slaughter" (1Sa 25:11).

poor and needy--God's people (Psa 10:17; 12:5). The punishment of the wicked as drawn on themselves--often mentioned (compare Psa 7:15, 16; 35:8).

Sòm 37:16

16. riches--literally, "noise and tumult," as incidental to much wealth (compare Psa 39:6). Thus the contrast with the "little" of one man is more vivid.

Sòm 37:17

17. Even the members of the body needed to hold weapons are destroyed.

Sòm 37:18-19

18-19. God, who knows His people's changes, provides against evil and supplies all their need.

Sòm 37:20

20. While the wicked, however mighty, are destroyed, and that utterly, as smoke which vanishes and leaves no trace.

Sòm 37:21-22

21-22. payeth not--not able; having grown poor (compare De 15:7). Ability of the one and inability of the other do not exclude moral dispositions. God's blessing or cursing makes the difference.

Sòm 37:23-24

23-24. steps--way, or, "course of life"; as ordered by God, failures will not be permanent.

Sòm 37:26

26. his seed is blessed--literally, "for a blessing" (Ge 12:2; Psa 21:6). This position is still true as the rule of God's economy (1Ti 4:8; 6:6).

Sòm 37:27-29

27-29. The exhortation is sustained by the assurance of God's essential rectitude in that providential government which provides perpetual blessings for the good, and perpetual misery for the wicked.

Sòm 37:30-31

30-31. The righteous described as to the elements of character, thought, word, and action.

Sòm 37:32-33

32-33. The devices of the wicked against the good fail because God acquits them.

Sòm 37:34

34. On the contrary, the good are not only blessed, but made to see the ruin of their foes.

Sòm 37:35-36

35-36. of which a picture is given, under the figure of a flourishing tree (compare Margin), which soon withers.

Sòm 37:37

37. By "the end" is meant reward (Pr 23:18; 24:14), or expectation of success, as in Psa 37:38, which describes the end of the wicked in contrast, and that is cut off (compare Psa 73:17).

Sòm 37:38

38. together--at once; entirely (Psa 4:8).

Sòm 37:39-40

39-40. strength--(Psa 27:1; 28:8).

trouble--straits (Psa 9:9; 10:1). In trust and quietness is the salvation of the pious from all foes and all their devices.
