A wedding, a funeral, a baptism or a dedication is a day the family will remember. The slides should be ready, correct and respectful — not prepared in a hurry five minutes before.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

King James Version

Meet the family first

  • Ask for the order of the service and the hymns they want.
  • Check the spelling of every name and date.
  • Ask for one or two photos, and for permission to show them.

Build the service

  1. Start a new service and give it a clear title, such as “Wedding — Marie & Jean”.
  2. Add a text slide with the names and the date for the welcome.
  3. Add the hymns and Bible readings chosen by the family.
  4. Use a photo from your Media Library as a background, darkened so the text stays readable.
  5. Add blank slides for the moments of silence or prayer.

On the day

Arrive early and test everything on the real screen. Keep the screen black (B) before the service starts, and avoid animations: simplicity fits these moments best.

After the service

Save the presentation. Families sometimes ask for the slides again, and next time you can start from this one instead of from nothing.

For funerals, choose calm backgrounds and a slightly larger text: many guests are elderly and seated far from the screen.
