1 (031:1) Pou chèf sanba yo. Se yon sòm David. (031:2) Seyè, m'ap chache pwoteksyon anba zèl ou! Pa janm kite m' pran wont ankò. Ou se yon Bondye ki pa nan patipri. Tanpri, delivre mwen. 2 (031:3) Panche zòrèy ou bò kote m', prese vin delivre mwen. Se ou menm ki twou wòch kote m' ka jwenn pwoteksyon. Se ou menm ki pou sèvi m' ranpa. Yo mete tèt yo ansanm sou do m', y'ap fè konplo pou yo touye m'. 14 (031:15) Men, Seyè, se nan ou mwen mete tou konfyans mwen. Se ou ki Bondye mwen. 15 (031:16) Lavi m' nan men ou. Delivre m' anba lènmi m' yo, anba moun k'ap pèsekite m' yo. 16 (031:17) Se sèvi m'ap sèvi ou, tanpri, fè m' santi ou la avèk mwen. Delivre m', paske ou renmen m'. 17 (031:18) M'ap rele ou, Seyè. Pa kite m' pran wont. Se mechan yo ki pou wont. Se pou yo mouri san di krik. 18 (031:19) Se pou yo rete san pale, moun sa yo k'ap bay manti, tout moun sa yo k'ap fè grandizè yo, k'ap fè awogans, k'ap pale mal sou moun k'ap mache dwat devan Bondye yo. 19 (031:20) Ala bon yo bon, bagay ou kenbe an rezèv pou moun ki gen krentif pou ou! Ala bèl yo bèl, bagay ou fè devan tout moun, lè w'ap pwoteje moun k'ap chache pwoteksyon anba zèl ou! 20 (031:21) Ou kenbe yo la devan je ou, pou ou ka pwoteje yo anba moun k'ap pèsekite yo. Ou kache yo lakay ou pou yo pa fini ak yo anba kout lang. 21 (031:22) Lwanj pou Seyè a! Ala bèl bagay li fè pou l' moutre jan l' renmen mwen, lè m' te anba tray, lè yo te sènen m' toupatou a! 22 (031:23) Mwen te pè, mwen t'ap di nan kè m': -Gen lè ou voye m' jete byen lwen ou. Men, ou te tande rèl mwen, lè m' t'ap mande ou sekou. 23 (031:24) Nou tout k'ap sèvi Seyè a, se pou nou renmen l'. Wi, Seyè a pwoteje tout moun ki kenbe fèm nan li. Men, se pa ti pini l'ap pini moun k'ap vante tèt yo. 24 (031:25) Nou tout ki met espwa nou nan Seyè a, pran kouraj, kenbe fèm.

PSALM 31
Psa 31:1-24. The prayer of a believer in time of deep distress. In the first part, cries for help are mingled with expressions of confidence. Then the detail of griefs engrosses his attention, till, in the assurance of strong but submissive faith, he rises to the language of unmingled joyful trust and exhorts others to like love and confidence towards God.
1. Expresses the general tone of feeling of the Psalm.
Sòm 31:2-4
2-4. He seeks help in God's righteous government (Psa 5:8), and begs for an attentive hearing, and speedy and effectual aid. With no other help and no claim of merit, he relies solely on God's regard to His own perfections for a safe guidance and release from the snares of his enemies. On the terms "rock," &c., (compare Psa 17:2; 18:2, 50; 20:6; 23:3; 25:21).

5-6. commit my spirit--my life, or myself. Our Saviour used the words on the Cross [Lu 23:46], not as prophetical, but, as many pious men have done, as expressive of His unshaken confidence in God. The Psalmist rests on God's faithfulness to His promises to His people, and hence avows himself one of them, detesting all who revere objects of idolatry (compare De 32:21; 1Co 8:4).

11. among--or, literally, "from," or, "by" my enemies. The latter clauses describe the progress of his disgrace to the lowest degree, till,

13. For--introduces further reasons for his prayer, the unjust, deliberate, and murderous purposes of his foes.

22. For I said--literally, "And I said," in an adversative sense. I, thus favored, was despondent.

cut off ... eyes--from all the protection of Thy presence.

23-24. the Lord ... proud doer--literally, "the Lord is keeping faith," that is, with His people, and is repaying, &c. Then let none despair, but take courage; their hopes shall not be in vain.
