1 Lwanj pou Seyè a! Nou menm ki rete anwo nan syèl la, fè lwanj Seyè a! Fè lwanj li anwo nan syèl la! 2 Se pou nou tout zanj li yo fè lwanj li. Se pou nou tout lame ki nan syèl la fè lwanj li. 3 Solèy ak lalin, fè lwanj li! Zetwal k'ap klere nan syèl la, fè lwanj li! 4 Se pou yo fè lwanj li anwo nèt nan syèl la. Se pou tout dlo ki pi wo pase syèl la fè lwanj li. 5 Se pou yo tout fè lwanj Seyè a! Paske, li annik pase yon lòd, epi tout bagay fèt. 6 Li mete yo chak nan plas yo pou tout tan. Li ba yo yon lòd, yo pa ka pa obeyi l'. 7 Se pou tout bagay ki sou latè fè lwanj li: gwo bèt lanmè ansanm ak fon lanmè a, 8 dife ak lagrèl, lanèj ak vapè, gwo van k'ap fè sa li di yo fè, 9 gwo mòn kou ti mòn, pyebwa k'ap donnen ak tout gwo pye sèd yo, 10 tout bèt nan bwa, tout bèt domestik, tout bèt k'ap trennen sou vant, ak tout zwezo k'ap vole nan syèl. 11 Fè lwanj li, nou menm wa yo ak tout pèp ki sou latè, chèf ak nou tout k'ap dirije lèzòm, 12 jenn fi kou jenn gason, granmoun kou timoun. 13 Se pou nou tout fè lwanj Seyè a, paske li gen yon non ki pi gwo pase tout lòt non. Pouvwa li pi wo pase syèl la ak latè a. 14 Li rebay pèp li a fòs ankò. Sa te yon lwanj pou tout moun k'ap sèvi l' yo, pou pitit Izrayèl yo, pou pèp li renmen anpil la. Lwanj pou Seyè a!

PSALM 148

Psa 148:1-14. The scope of this Psalm is the same as that of the preceding.

1. heavens [and] heights--are synonymous.

4. heavens of heavens--the very highest.

waters--clouds, resting above the visible heavens (compare Ge 1:7).

5. praise the name--as representing His perfections.

he commanded--"He" is emphatic, ascribing creation to God alone.

6. The perpetuity of the frame of nature is, of course, subject to Him who formed it.

a decree ... pass--His ordinances respecting them shall not change (Jr 36:31), or perish (Job 34:20; Psa 37:36).

Sòm 148:7-10

7-10. The call on the earth, as opposed to heaven, includes seas or depths, whose inhabitants the dragon, as one of the largest (on leviathan, see on Psa 104:26), is selected to represent. The most destructive and ungovernable agents of inanimate nature are introduced.

11-12. Next all rational beings, from the highest in rank to little children.

princes--or, military leaders.

13. Let them--all mentioned.

excellent--or, exalted (Is 12:4).

his glory--majesty (Psa 45:3).

above the earth and heaven--Their united splendors fail to match His.

Sòm 148:14

14. exalteth the horn--established power (Psa 75:5, 6).

praise of--or literally, "for"

his saints--that is, occasions for them to praise Him. They are further described as "His people," and "near unto Him," sustaining by covenanted care a peculiarly intimate relation.
