1 JEHOVÁ, Dios de las venganzas, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate. 2 Ensálzate, oh Juez de la tierra: da el pago á los soberbios. 3 ¿Hasta cuándo los impíos, hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, se gozarán los impíos? 4 ¿Hasta cuándo pronunciarán, hablarán cosas duras, y se vanagloriarán todos los que obran iniquidad? 5 A tu pueblo, oh Jehová, quebrantan, y á tu heredad afligen. 6 A la viuda y al extanjero matan, y á los huérfanos quitan la vida. 7 Y dijeron: No verá JAH, ni entenderá el Dios de Jacob. 8 Entended, necios del pueblo; y vosotros fatuos, ¿cuándo seréis sabios? 9 El que plantó el oído, ¿no oirá? el que formó el ojo, ¿no verá? 10 El que castiga las gentes, ¿no reprenderá? ¿no sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia? 11 Jehová conoce los pensamientos de los hombres, que son vanidad. 12 Bienaventurado el hombre á quien tú, JAH, castigares, y en tu ley lo instruyeres; 13 Para tranquilizarle en los días de aflicción, en tanto que para el impío se cava el hoyo. 14 Porque no dejará Jehová su pueblo, ni desamparará su heredad; 15 Sino que el juicio será vuelto á justicia, y en pos de ella irán todos los rectos de corazón. 16 ¿Quién se levantará por mí contra los malignos? ¿quién estará por mí contra los que obran iniquidad? 17 Si no me ayudara Jehová, presto morara mi alma en el silencio. 18 Cuando yo decía: Mi pie resbala: tu misericordia, oh Jehová, me sustentaba. 19 En la multitud de mis pensamientos dentro de mí, tus consolaciones alegraban mi alma. 20 ¿Juntaráse contigo el trono de iniquidades, que forma agravio en el mandamiento? 21 Pónense en corros contra la vida del justo, y condenan la sangre inocente. 22 Mas Jehová me ha sido por refugio; y mi Dios por roca de mi confianza. 23 Y él hará tornar sobre ellos su iniquidad, y los destruirá por su propia maldad; los talará Jehová nuestro Dios.

Salmos 94:1-2

PSALM 94

Psa 94:1-23. The writer, appealing to God in view of the oppression of enemies, rebukes them for their wickedness and folly, and encourages himself, in the confidence that God will punish evildoers, and favor His people.

1-2. God's revenge is His judicial infliction of righteous punishment.

show thyself--(Compare Margin).

Salmos 94:3-4

3-4. In an earnest expostulation he expresses his desire that the insolent triumph of the wicked may be ended.

Salmos 94:5-6

5-6. thy people [and] thine heritage--are synonymous, the people being often called God's heritage. As justice to the weak is a sign of the best government, their oppression is a sign of the worst (De 10:18; Is 10:2).

Salmos 94:7

7. Their cruelty is only exceeded by their wicked and absurd presumption (Psa 10:11; 59:7).

Salmos 94:9-11

9-11. The evidence of God's providential government is found in His creative power and omniscience, which also assure us that He can punish the wicked in regard to all their vain purposes.

Salmos 94:12-13

12-13. On the other hand He favors though He chastens, the pious, and will teach and preserve them till the prosperous wicked are overthrown.

Salmos 94:14-15

14-15. This results from His abiding love (De 32:15), which is further evinced by His restoring order in His government, whose right administration will be approved by the good.

Salmos 94:16

16. These questions imply that none other than God will help (Psa 60:9),

Salmos 94:17-19

17-19. a fact fully confirmed by his past experience.

dwelt in silence--as in the grave (Psa 31:17).

Salmos 94:20

20. throne--power, rulers.

iniquity [and] mischief--both denote evils done to others, as Psa 94:21 explains.

Salmos 94:22-23

22-23. Yet he is safe in God's care.

defence--(Psa 59:9).

rock of ... refuge--(Psa 9:9; 18:2).
